Sign-up takes about a minute:

  1. Click Join Near-U in the top right.
  2. Pick your role — Client (you need work done) or Provider (you do the work).
  3. Enter your name and Nigerian phone number, then set a password.
  4. Confirm the SMS code we send. You're in.

Email is optional — add one later if you want password resets by email.

We charge a platform commission on completed bookings — paid by the client on top of the agreed contract amount. The rate depends on the provider's plan: Free tier 0%, Basic 3%, Pro 5%. There's no cost to sign up, list services, or browse.

Most providers are verified within 24 hours of submitting their selfie + ID. Complex cases may take up to 48 hours.

Yes. Cancellations more than 4 hours before the scheduled time get a full refund. Within 4 hours, providers may charge a small cancellation fee for the time held.

After a job is marked complete by both parties (or after the dispute window expires without a dispute), the provider can request a payout from their earnings dashboard. The full agreed contract amount is paid out — the platform commission is charged to the client separately on top.

Open a dispute and we'll mediate:

  1. Go to the booking page where the issue happened.
  2. Tap Raise a dispute and describe what went wrong.
  3. Add photos, screenshots, or any other evidence.
  4. Our support team contacts both sides within 24 hours and resolves with a release, refund, or split — usually within 72 hours.

Yes — Near-U serves every state in Nigeria, with GPS-based matching across cities, towns, and neighbourhoods. Provider density is highest in Lagos, Abuja, and Port Harcourt, and growing fast elsewhere.

Becoming a Near-U pro is straightforward:

  1. Sign up as a Provider and fill out your profile — trades you cover and your service area on the map.
  2. Upload a selfie and a government ID (NIN, voter's card, driver's licence, or passport).
  3. List your fixed-price services with photos.
  4. Once we verify you (usually within 24 hours), bookings start landing in your inbox.

Remember the small things that make the site feel like yours — your shared GPS location for distance checks, the tab you last opened in your account page, recent search queries, and which providers you've viewed. The site still works without these, but you'll have to share your location again on every visit.

Help us see how Near-U is being used — which pages people visit, which searches succeed, where errors happen. All data is anonymous and aggregated. We use this to fix bugs and improve flows that confuse people. Currently includes: Google Analytics (when enabled).

Let us show you Near-U adverts on other sites (Facebook, Instagram, Google) and measure whether those adverts brought you back. We may also use these to retarget you if you started a booking but didn't finish. Currently includes: Meta Pixel, Google Ads conversion tracking (when enabled).
