How do I list a service?
Go to My services → Add service in your provider dashboard. You'll need:
- A title (e.g. "Boiler installation, 3-bedroom flat").
- A short description of what's included.
- A fixed price in naira. (Near-U is a fixed-price marketplace — no haggling on the platform.)
- An optional estimated duration so clients know roughly how long it'll take.
You can list as many services as you want under the trades you're verified for.
How do I get more bookings?
Three things move the needle:
- Complete jobs. Volume drives ranking more than anything else.
- Keep your rating above 4.5. That's the threshold for our "trusted" badge and category-page placement.
- Reply fast. Bookings auto-expire after a few hours if you don't accept. Your average response time is shown on your public profile — faster pros get booked more.
You can also upgrade to Pro for ₦5,000 — that gives you priority placement in search, a gold badge, and removes booking caps.
When and how do I get paid?
Payouts run weekly. The cycle:
- Client books and pays → funds held in escrow.
- You complete the job and mark it done.
- Client confirms → funds release from escrow.
- Every week we batch every provider's released-but-unpaid earnings and transfer them to the bank account on your profile, minus our commission.
Make sure your bank details on My profile → Payout details are correct. If they're missing, your earnings sit in our system until you complete them — we can't pay you without them.
What is a portfolio?
Your portfolio is a gallery of photos that shows off your past work and workshop. Clients see it on your public profile — it's a major trust signal.
Go to My profile → Portfolio, upload up to 30 images, and tag each as either a Past job or a Workshop photo. Every upload goes through admin review before it goes public (usually within 24 hours).
