Booking a pro, tracking the job, and confirming completion.

How do I book a provider?

Browse a category (e.g. Plumbing), pick a verified pro near you, and tap Book on the service you need. You'll fill in a quick form:

  • A few questions tailored to that trade (e.g. "What's leaking?", "How urgent?")
  • The date and time you want the work done.
  • Address — including a GPS pin if you want the pro to navigate.
  • Your contact phone number.

Then you pay via Paystack and that's it. The provider gets notified the moment payment lands.

Can I cancel a booking?

Yes, with these rules:

  • Before the provider accepts — cancel free. Full refund.
  • After acceptance, before the job starts — cancel free. Full refund.
  • Once work has started — you can't directly cancel. Raise a dispute if something's gone wrong and our team will mediate.

The provider hasn't replied to my booking. What now?

Providers have a soft deadline of a few hours to accept or decline. If a provider doesn't respond within 24 hours, the booking auto-expires and you get a full refund automatically — no action needed.

In the meantime, you can cancel anytime from your booking page (free, full refund).

I want to rebook the same provider — what's the fastest way?

Open your dashboard. Your most recent providers appear at the top with a Book again button. One tap takes you to a pre-filled booking form with their services — pick a service, fill in the date and address, pay. Under 30 seconds.

Remember the small things that make the site feel like yours — your shared GPS location for distance checks, the tab you last opened in your account page, recent search queries, and which providers you've viewed. The site still works without these, but you'll have to share your location again on every visit.

Help us see how Near-U is being used — which pages people visit, which searches succeed, where errors happen. All data is anonymous and aggregated. We use this to fix bugs and improve flows that confuse people. Currently includes: Google Analytics (when enabled).

Let us show you Near-U adverts on other sites (Facebook, Instagram, Google) and measure whether those adverts brought you back. We may also use these to retarget you if you started a booking but didn't finish. Currently includes: Meta Pixel, Google Ads conversion tracking (when enabled).
